WIW WI Meeting Minutes
For September 14th, 2017
Held at Paris Fairgrounds
Guest Speaker Rhonda Gardiner (Lennie) Elementary School Principal came to speak about transitions in our life. Some of her suggestions were:
Business part of meeting
Elaine Tully, President:
Brought to the table that the website is still work in progress and that with Michelle Van Laecken’s help programing will eventually be placed onto the website. Elaine asked the group as a whole, if we feel the need to keep with the member’s portal, accessible by password, which requires a renewal fee to maintain. Briana French moved to not continue with the member’s portal. Cassie Easton seconded the motion. Carried.
There was a reminder of all the groups that are part of WI.
Upcoming Event: Afternoon Tea Saturday October 28th, 2017 $20 per person. Laura Tousaw is organizing, and will post an event notice on the Facebook page.
Susanne Brookes with regrets stepped down from the Community Giving committee. The executive committee believed that it makes sense the role of Community Giving be taken over by the Advocacy committee. Some of the many past community causes that the Advocacy have helped fundraise for were SAC Race, Good Food Box, and Mental health.
Advocacy asked everyone to place giving ideas on a note during the meeting to be handed in at the end to help Advocacy with the year’s giving at the upcoming meetings. This meeting’s gift giving was school supplies that went to both the guest speaker and a local school in need.
Michelle Sanderson, Program co-ordinator:
Quarter Auction is postponed until February 23rd. She will be posting soon for anyone whom wish to be a part of the planning committee.
Alison Adam, Treasurer:
Stated that our bank balance is $490. With still funds due to Paris Fair Winners.
There was talk about the Paris Fair and how well our sponsored entries did. We had 6 people who entered for the Queen Elizabeth Cake, and 4 entries for the Apron.
A request was made that we do on going reminders for Paris fair entries, as well as any other local fairs. A suggestion was made that we start with reminders earlier into the year. All postings to be done on our Facebook Group.

- Grounding and mindfulness (Check out Goldie Hawn’s Mindfulness Website)
- Essential oils can help with mood regulating
- Asking someone what they would like to do to calm down.
- Try mindfulness at home
- Know thyself and each other
- Triggers for dysregulations are real
- Acts of service
- Love language- words of love, physical contact, time, rewards
- We all do well when we can
